Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

1AM Rituals is a YouTube music channel (@1AMRituals). “1AM Rituals Uploader” (the “App”) is an internal tool we built to publish 1AM Rituals’ own videos to its own YouTube channel. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean 1AM Rituals. You can reach us at oneamrituals@gmail.com.

2. YouTube API Services

The App uses YouTube API Services (the YouTube Data API and, once the channel owner enables it, the YouTube Analytics API) to upload videos, set thumbnails and titles, and manage playlists on the 1AM Rituals channel, and to show the channel’s own statistics in its private dashboard. By using the App you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Who uses the App

The App is not a public service. It is used only by the owner of the 1AM Rituals channel, and it only ever connects to that one Google account. It does not ask viewers, listeners or any other people to sign in, and it does not access anyone else’s Google or YouTube account.

4. What information the App accesses

• OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by Google when the channel owner grants permission. These let the App act on the 1AM Rituals channel.
• Basic channel information for the 1AM Rituals channel (such as the channel ID and name), used to confirm the App is uploading to the correct channel.
• Our own content and metadata: the videos, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags and playlist details we upload. This is our own material.
• Statistics for our own channel: the subscriber count, view, like and comment counts of the 1AM Rituals channel and its videos and, once the channel owner grants the read-only analytics permission, YouTube Analytics reports for the channel: watch time, average view duration, audience retention, subscribers gained or lost, traffic sources, and aggregated viewer country, age-group and gender percentages. These are totals and percentages provided by YouTube; they never identify individual viewers.

The App does not collect information about individual viewers, subscribers, commenters or any other users, and it does not read private messages, contacts, or any other data from any Google account.

The App requests two Google permissions (scopes): youtube.upload, to upload videos to the 1AM Rituals channel, and youtube, to set thumbnails, edit titles, descriptions and publish times, manage playlists and read the statistics of that channel. If the channel owner enables analytics, the App also requests yt-analytics.readonly, a read-only permission to view YouTube Analytics reports for the channel. It does not request any other Google permissions.

5. How we use the information

We use the information above only to upload and manage 1AM Rituals’ own videos on its own YouTube channel: uploading videos, setting thumbnails and metadata, scheduling publication, and adding videos to our playlists, and to show the channel owner and the team members the owner has approved how the channel’s own videos are performing, in the private dashboard. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.

Every upload, metadata change and visibility setting (public, private, unlisted or scheduled) is chosen and approved by the channel owner. The App does not change existing videos or their visibility unless the owner tells it to.

6. Sharing and selling

We never sell, rent or trade any data. We do not share data obtained through YouTube API Services with any third party. Data is sent only to Google/YouTube as needed to perform the uploads. Channel statistics are shown only inside the private dashboard, to the channel owner and the team members the owner has approved.

7. Storage and security

The OAuth tokens are stored securely on our own private server, with access restricted to the channel owner and the tools that run the uploads. They are never published, embedded in websites, or shared. All connections to Google use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect stored tokens from unauthorised access.

8. This website, cookies and tracking

This website is a simple static site. It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not collect personal information through forms. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) may keep standard technical server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and operations, under the Google Privacy Policy. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

9. Data retention and deletion

• We keep the OAuth tokens only while the App is in use. If access is revoked (through us or through Google’s security settings) or the App is retired, we revoke the tokens with Google and delete them from our server as soon as possible, and within 7 days.
• Channel information obtained through the API is kept only as long as needed to perform uploads. We refresh or delete it at least every 30 days, and we check at least every 30 days that our access is still authorised. If it is not, we delete the related data.
• Channel statistics and analytics are kept in the private dashboard database only while the channel owner’s authorisation is active. Detailed snapshots are deleted after 35 days and daily totals after about 13 months. Every few hours we refresh them and check that each video still exists; data for a video removed from YouTube is deleted on the next refresh. If access is revoked or can no longer be refreshed, all stored statistics and analytics are deleted.
• To ask us to delete any data the App has stored, email oneamrituals@gmail.com. We will delete it as soon as possible, and within 7 days, and confirm by email.
• Deleting data stored by the App does not delete anything on YouTube. Videos, playlists and other content already on YouTube stay there until they are removed in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app.

10. Revoking access

The account owner can revoke the App’s access in two ways: (a) by emailing oneamrituals@gmail.com and asking us to disconnect the App, in which case we revoke the token with Google straight away and delete stored data within 7 days; or (b) at any time from the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Once access is revoked, the App can no longer act on the channel, and we delete stored data as described in section 9.

11. Children

The App is an internal tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. If the App starts using data in a new way that this policy does not cover, we will ask the account owner to review and accept the updated policy before that happens.
